Video test drives of another fairly popular representative of the Skoda brand – the A7 model, confirms the desire of designers and designers to present this car in a different, higher status. The exterior, as well as the interior, of this model have become much more attractive, which one cannot but agree with after watching the test drive video. The trunk of this hatchback has increased to an impressive 590 liters, and the interior has become more spacious. Details of interior decoration are made of higher quality material. There is nothing superfluous in the interior of the described model, everything is done modestly and at the same time rationally.
The performance of the Skoda Octavia A7 version, especially with manual transmission, confirms the high level of dynamism and efficiency of the car. Models are offered to customers on gasoline (1.2, 1.4, 1.6 and 1.8 liters) and diesel (2.0 liters).
The driving performance of the A7 model was positively noted not only by the owners of these cars, but also by leading experts in their video reviews. The suspension confidently absorbs the bumps and pits of domestic roads, although it is worth noting the resource of some chassis parts, which could be more. Honest criticism of the owners indicates that the sound insulation of the bottom of the car is not of sufficient quality. Another of the shortcomings that appeared when testing the driving performance of the model is the large rear end of the car when driving on rough roads.

Feeling of the trip
As soon as the driver enters the Octavia salon, which was completely changed and finalized in 2013, it seems that he made a mistake with the car, getting into a more expensive vehicle. It doesn’t look like a Skoda at all, except for the logo on the steering wheel. It is a pity that the review on the video does not convey the fullness of the sensations of the quality of the material and the level of assembly of the car. When in contact with the controls, there is no sensation of unpleasant material. Every component of the cabin is matched perfectly. The beginning of the trip immediately demonstrates the sporty mood of the Skoda engines. The most outstanding moments on the trip are worth highlighting in a small list:
- ergonomics at its best – it cannot be compared with other cars of the concern and the previous model;
- Skoda specialists did a great job with the seats – it is very comfortable to sit in them, the support works great;
- there is about the same space in the cabin as in the previous generation Superb;
- the elasticity of the engines and the clarity of the boxes casts doubt on the Czech and budgetary origin of the car.
A test drive on this car only strengthens the desire to purchase it. So if you go to the salon for a test drive, be prepared to purchase.
Security and comfort systems
The emergence of a new generation of Skoda Octavia affected the list of security and comfort systems. We can say that in addition to the main systems from the third generation, the novelty has received many modern active systems to help the driver. The manufacturer has not yet opened a complete list of Skoda Octavia 2020 systems, most likely it will do so after the official start of sales. However, the following functionality is known:
- front and rear airbags;
- matrix optics;
- adaptive cruise control;
- 1, 2 or 3-zone climate control;
- multimedia system;
- ventilation and heating of the front seats;

This is the minimum list of what will appear in the new generation of Skoda Octavia. We should probably expect a dozen more new systems, as well as additions in the direction of comfort.
Production features
The new Skoda Octavia that appeared on our automotive market are produced in Russia at the Gorky Automobile Plant (GAZ). Initially, Skoda cars were assembled at a car factory in Kaluga. However, the local enterprise could not cope with the set scope of work, as a result, production was transferred to Nizhny Novgorod.
In addition to the popular model, the Skoda Kodiaq mid-size crossover is also assembled here. The machines assembled at this plant also go to the Czech Republic, where the company distributes them for sale in various countries. Production of Octavia in a new body is carried out by a full cycle, i.e. from scratch. The factory carries out:
- body welding;
- two-time primer;
- coloring;
- processing of joints of body parts with sealant;
- anti-corrosion treatment of body parts with a special composition;
- waxing.
Components for GAZ come from the enterprises of the German concern VAG. Judging by the start of sales of the new Skoda Octavia, the model has good prospects. Comfortable, roomy car like domestic buyers. They are satisfied with a comfortable spacious interior, technical equipment, a large trunk.
