Vehicle interior

This section has undergone significant changes, so it is worth reviewing it in more detail.

  1. In the basic version, the dashboard is analog-digital. In the top version, this is a fully digital module in the form of a 10.25-inch tablet, on which you can choose one of several options for the location of the device. The steering wheel is quite comfortable, with heating around the perimeter and gearshift paddles, the buttons of which are located on the upper spokes.
  2. The car is designed to carry up to five passengers. Both in front and behind you can sit comfortably. The front seats have a high back and pronounced lateral support. In most cases, fabrics and artificial leather are used for upholstery. The choice of colors is extensive.
  3. The interior can be plain or colored to give the cabin a more modern feel. Another notable detail is the stylish LED lighting around the perimeter.
  4. In the basic version, an 8-inch screen with climate control and mechanical multimedia is installed on the center console. In the top version, however, the screen expands to 10.25 inches and all buttons are touch sensitive.
  5. The aisle between the front seats is huge and houses the comfort and safety control modules, gearbox, handbrake and cup holders. Comfortable armrests allow the driver to sit comfortably.

By the way!

In the niche of the center console there is an audio output, a USB port and a wireless charging module for various gadgets.

There are a lot of crossovers in the price range of 1.5-2 million rubles in our market – let’s see what you can get for this money.

KIA Sportage can be taken for only 1.25 million rubles – but it will be a crossover with front-wheel drive and a manual transmission. The version with an automatic and a 2-liter 150-horsepower engine pulls already 1.4 million, the all-wheel drive version will cost 1.54 million. The diesel Sportage costs at least 1.9 million rubles, but it will be a fairly rich Prestige package.

The best-selling crossover in its segment in pro

The best-selling crossover in its segment last year – Toyota RAV4 – costs at least 1.49 million rubles, but this is a front-wheel drive car, and even on the “mechanics”. If you want four-wheel drive and an automatic (in this case, a variator) – prepare 1.63 million. A more or less rich Exclusive package will pull 2 million rubles, and the top version with a 2.5-liter engine costs 2.2 million.

The new Volkswagen Tiguan in the basic version costs 1.4

New Volkswagen Tiguan in the basic version it costs 1.46 million rubles, but this is again a two-wheel drive crossover with “mechanics”. A 150-horsepower engine, all-wheel drive and a robot raise the price of a car to 1.77 million, and the Highline equipment with a 180-horsepower engine will already pull 2.07 million. A fully equipped Tiguan will cost more than 2.5 million rubles.

Prices for Nissan Qashqai start at 1.17 million

Prices for Nissan Qashqai start at 1.17 million rubles. But do not flatter yourself – this is how much a crossover with front-wheel drive, a manual transmission and a 1.2-liter engine costs. An all-wheel drive car with a CVT and a 2-liter engine will cost 1.53 million rubles. Qashqai in a rich LE Plus package costs 1.74 million rubles, which looks like an interesting offer against the background of competitors.

The recently updated Ford Kuga in the basic version can

The recently updated Ford Kuga in the basic version boasts a 2.5-liter engine, however, its power is low – 150 hp. Such a front-wheel drive car can be bought for 1.4 million rubles. All-wheel drive can only be “Kugi” with turbocharged Ecoboost engines with a volume of one and a half liters and a power of 150 or 182 hp. – this is at least 1.62 million rubles. In the top configuration Ford Kuga costs the same 2 million rubles.

If the same 1.5-2 million rubles are available

If you still have the same 1.5–2 million rubles available, but you want to take a slightly larger crossover, you can take a closer look at the Mitsubishi Outlander model. Prices for it start from the usual one and a half million rubles, an all-wheel drive car with a CVT and a 2.4-liter engine costs almost half a million more. For 2.3 million rubles, you can buy an Outlander GT with a 3-liter V6 and SAWC all-wheel drive.

How much does it all cost?

The initial version with a 150-horsepower two-liter gasoline engine, front-wheel drive and a six-speed “mechanics” will cost your wallet 1,869,000 rubles. Do you need an automatic? No problems. This will cost an additional 60,000 rubles. Then comes the conversion, with a 2.5-liter 190-horsepower diesel engine for 2,769,000 rubles. Throw in $115,000 and you have a Smart Sensor package that interacts with a host of electronic assistants – automatic braking, high beam control, collision avoidance, lane keeping, and more. Well, the top version of Vixenos will cost a little more than 3 million rubles when painted in any color (except white).

Big country – big format

It is curious that the new Tucson revealed in the fall of 2020 in two sizes at once. The Europeans were sent a short version (total length 4500 mm with a wheelbase of 2680 mm), and the Chinese, Americans, Koreans and we got a modification stretched to 4630 mm (with a center distance of 2755 mm) with the factory code NX4L.

In other words, the new model turned out to be much larger than the previous one. And even though the salon is strictly five-seater, it is very spacious. For comparison: in a large frame SUV Haval H9 second-row passengers do not sit so at ease. And in the Hyundai Tucson, even for a tall driver, there is so much space left that in all directions there is no feeling of tightness: feet, knees, shoulders and head are provided with relaxation.

But if this is not enough, then the remote control at the end of the backrest allows you to move the right front seat forward. There are also enough pleasant accompanying things at the back: the floor is flat, the backrest changes the angle of inclination; there are a couple of USB slots, a folding armrest with cup holders and individual air deflectors.

The equipment of the top special version of the Visioner includes a kit

The equipment of the top special version of the Visioner includes a motorist’s kit in a “premium” case.

The trunk is arranged without fuss. It holds from 539 to 1903 liters, pleases with a flat floor and generally a convenient configuration. Among the useful little things, I note a 12-volt outlet, rigging loops and remote folding levers for the back of the rear sofa. The fifth door rises high – you won’t hit your head, but the lock button was placed low enough, with a height of 185 cm you have to bow. Among other inconveniences – a roller blind without guides on the side walls: to get into the latches the first time, you need some skill. And there is still not enough load securing system or at least hook nets for bags and other light things.

The clearance declared by the manufacturer is 181 mm. Important

The clearance declared by the manufacturer is 181 mm. An important caveat: the measurements were carried out within the wheelbase.

No visor, no selector

The interior looks just as impressive. Firstly, there is no visor above the 10.25-inch “tablet” of the dashboard, but you don’t notice this at all. And, interestingly, even the “poisonous” winter sun does not give glare, the lower part of the center console is “responsible” for them in the cabin. Secondly, there is no traditional gearbox selector here: transmission modes are switched by buttons on the center console. Conveniently? Quite, but at first you involuntarily look down to make sure you are pressing the right button.

Tucson also knows how to change the “mood”: if you choose between Sport or Eco modes, the design of the devices also changes. In addition, the ambient interior lighting can be changed with 64 options to choose from.

There are no questions about ergonomics: the seats are comfortable, the steering column adjustment ranges are more than sufficient. Good visibility, large mirrors, plus there are all-round cameras, as well as “tips” on the instrument panel: when you turn on the turn signal, an image from the side camera appears on the panel, which helps to control blind spots.

Another interesting feature is the unusual deflectors of the climate control system. Air is supplied through a grate that runs along the entire panel. According to the manufacturer, this allows passengers to feel more comfortable even in the most intense climate mode.

How does he ride

Classic selector 8‑speed automatic ustuThe classic 8-speed automatic selector gives way to the keys on the machines in the maximum configuration, but not in the case of the 2.0 engine, which has a 6-speed gearbox. All Tussans have a choice between economical, normal, sporty and adaptive asphalt driving modes. Adaptation to the road surface – only for all-wheel drive with a gun.

The classic 8-speed automatic selector gives way to the keys on the machines in the maximum configuration, but not in the case of the 2.0 engine, which has a 6-speed gearbox. All Tussans have a choice between economical, normal, sporty and adaptive asphalt driving modes. Adaptation to the road surface – only for all-wheel drive with a gun.

It is clear that I wanted to ride on the basic version, but from the first cars I was given not the cheapest ones – petrol 2.5 GDI (190 hp) and diesel 2.0 (186 hp). Both have an 8-speed automatic and all-wheel drive.

Either I was expecting too much from Tussan 2.5, or they messed up something with the settings, but I didn’t feel cheerfulness. Declared 9.4 to hundreds seem too optimistic. The engine has a very smooth character, without dips and pickups. In the cabin – an enviable silence. This partly hides the feeling of dynamics.

The diesel engine is not shy of itself: it picks up as it should be, shows vivacity in every possible way and can even press it into the back. The operating range is slightly narrower than that of a gasoline counterpart, but the machine deftly switches, allowing the engine to keep optimal speed.

According to the performance characteristics, the diesel Tussan has the same 9.4 s to 100 km / h, but according to impressions, the difference is enormous! And consumption is less than half. But diesel Tucson is more expensive by 100 thousand rubles.

Rich. But expensive

However, you need to understand that many of the items of equipment that we list are available only in the most expensive trim levels. There are five of them, and the difference between the “base” and “top” is huge: the initial version costs 66,900 rubles, the most expensive is 110,900.

The base 2-liter 150-horsepower Tucson can have both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive and be equipped with either a 6-speed “mechanics” or a 6-band “automatic”. The price is from 66,900 to 92,900 rubles. The next step is the Tucson with a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine that develops 190 hp. With. Front and all-wheel drive are also available for it, but you won’t be able to choose a transmission: only an 8-band “automatic” is offered. The price is from 85,900 to 105,900 rubles.

Well, the most expensive Tucson is equipped with a 2-liter turbodiesel that produces 186 hp. with., and it is offered exclusively with an 8-band “automatic” and all-wheel drive. Such a car is available only in three higher trim levels and costs from 94,900 to 110,900 rubles.
